Arts + Crafts Mentorship Session
For creatives of all kinds who wish to explore their personal material practice, craft narratives and their place in the contemporary landscape;
It’s been 20 years since I graduated, and I’ve had a very rich and varied arts career since 2004;
Drawing on my extensive arts training, educational experience as a design lecturer, workshop technical tutor, postgraduate in arts therapy and counselling, and a published author, I’m now offering my own sessions to artists, makers, and creatives of all kinds as a way to support and energise you within your practice;
some ideas for exploration might include; your relationship to your practice, exploring new project briefs, revisiting old ideas, testing out a new process, practical questions into your material practice, exploring culture, identity and history in the context of your arts practice, storytelling and narrative folklore in craft…
whatever makes itself known in your studio, we can work into during our session.
These sessions blend my own experiences as a professional craftmaker with my educational training as a tutor and mentor, plus my arts therapy counselling skills, to gently enquire into your creative needs. I promote active listening, practical suggestions and offer exploratory creative interventions in a gentle, caring and respectful energetic space.
I offer a post-session reading and research list to keep your direction focussed, as standard.
Sessions are one-hour and conducted online (internationally) from the comfort of your own studio or creative space.
